ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain has called upon OIC’s Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation to expedite implementation of the decisions taken at the OIC summit in Astana.
The President, who is also Chairman of COMSTECH, said this during a briefing by Coordinator General of COMSTECH Dr. Shoukat Hameed in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The President emphasized to promote education and research in the Islamic world for improving quality of life of the common man.
He said it is necessary to establish academic and research institutions in the Islamic world as well as enhance the capacity of existing institutions.
The President said representation of donor countries should be ensured in relevant institutions so that the matters in this respect could be taken forward with mutual consultation and understanding.
