Federal Minister of Information for issuance of Health Cards to senior artists

KARACHI,Jan15(APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Tuesday said that the Health Cards will be issued to 45-plus years old artists of the country, inthe first phase.
He said this while talking to film producers and film-makers in a meeting at Sindh Governor’s House here.
Responding to a suggestion with regard to the provision of relief to the legendary and senior artists of the country, the Federal Minister said that the artists of 40-plus years of age will be issued health cards to avail better medical treatment.
He said that active efforts are being made to encourage the films production and increase the number of cinema houses and screens to entertain the people.
He said that coopertion from the embassies of Pakistan working abroad could also be sought to coodinate with the film-makers to sell the films abroad. He suggested that we need to follow the model of sale of the film ahead of completion.
He said that the film policy of the country will be announced after a few amendments to it.

The Minister said, “We are trying to make a film board of the country.” He also said that if any body wants to establish a film city or state-of-the-art studio, the possible cooperation will be provided to this effect.
Fawad said that the 16 famous festivals (Mela) of Pakistan like Shindur Mela, Basnat, Nauroz, PSL and Polo festival will be highlighted through Lok Virsa to attract the tourists to the country and to promote tourism in the country.
He said, “We are also considering to ease the visa rules for 66 countries to promote tourism.”
Earlier, a presentation was also delivered by General Secretary, United Producers Association (UPA), and Ismail Jilani about the problems and issues which are being confronted by the film producers. He discussed various suggestions for promotion of film industry in the country.
The Federal Information Minister called upon the film makers to present their suggestions with regard to further promotion of film-making in the country.
