Enhanced academic cooperation important for creating linkage between people: Khusro Bakhtyar

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18(APP):  Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar Monday lauded the leadership of china for increasing the scholarships for Pakistani students saying that enhanced academic cooperation can play significant role in creating linkage between the people of both countries.

Addressing the third annual CPEC consortium of universities here at Jinnah Convention center the minister further said that enhancement of geographical linkages and improvement of co-operation through educational institutions will result in well connected, integrated region of shared destiny, harmony and development.

Though enhanced people-to-people contacts and academic cooperation Pak-China relations would continue to gain strength from generations to generations, he added.

The minister describes China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a framework of regional connectivity saying that the project will improve the lives of people of both countries by exploring new potential areas of investments, promoting bilateral connectivity, trade and people to people contact.

The minister expressed hope that the consortium of universities will have meaningful consultation to formulate the roadmap for academic cooperation and hoped that it will yield tangible progress towards our shared goal of peace, prosperity and development.

Speaking at the outset the Ambassador of China to Pakistan Yao Jing said that next stage of the CPEC will be more people oriented and futuristic.

He said that Pakistan and China are strong strategic partners and owing to the collaborated efforts of both governments CPEC will be a gateway for progress and prosperity for the whole region.
