ISLAMABAD Sep 22 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain says resolution of Kashmir issue is essential for durable peace in the region.
Addressing an international conference on ‘peace and security in South and Central Asia’ organized by Fatima Jinnah University Rawalpindi on Thursday, the President said a peaceful atmosphere in the region can be created by accepting the right to self-determination of Kashmiris with open heart.
He stressed for refraining from hostile attitude so that development in the region can be preceded. “Pakistan is ready to play its role in this regard” he added.
The President highlighted that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a multi-purpose project which will bring prosperity in all the countries of the region.
He said neighboring countries particularly Central Asian States are taking keen interest in this project and desirous of partnership.
He noted that present Government’s policies have resulted into betterment in law and order situation, as well as country’s financial position have also improved. APP/ Hamza/ VNS Islamabad
