SUKKUR, Nov 03 (APP):Moringa Tree Plantation Campaign has been initiated to solve challenge of malnutrition among children and mothers by Sindh Rural Support Orgnization (SRSO)under the Programme for Improved Nutrition In Sindh (PINS-ER-III).
In this connection, 656 Nurseries have been established at community level and above 3 lakhs trees have been produced and distributed among the communities of 3 districts including Larkana, Kamber-Shahdadkot, and Shikarpur. Under this campaign, near about 3, 00000 Moringa Trees have been produced, provided and planted to communities for the fulfill future nutrition needs and challenges of women, children, and other family members.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SRSO, Muhammad Dital Kalhoro said mal-nutrition among children and mothers has emerged as a big challenge of Sindh. Due to severally malnutrition issue, they reached death and other complicated physical and mental diseases., he said and added that it must be addressed on priory bases and this initiative has been taken by SRSO with the financial support of the EU.
Kalhoro further said that SRSO has engaged and received full support from the district administration, community institutions (COs, VOs and LSO) and at large communities to achieve targets of the tree plantation campaign in these districts.
