ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain says ongoing pilot survey for National Socio Economic Registry (NSER) update under BISP would be pivotal for effective policy making.

He was talking to Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Marvi Memon, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday.

The President said NSER is a valuable asset as it is not only used by government but other organizations as well for designing and implementing development programmes for the welfare of the poor.

Apprising the President on survey for NSER update, Chairperson said poverty Score Card has been revised to enhance the quality of data. She said information related to infant mortality, microfinance, migratory trends and access to justice have been added to enhance the robustness of NSER.

The Chairperson said door to door survey and its pilot phase will be completed by August this year. To overcome data quality errors, Computer Assisted Personal Interviews have been conducted. She said android application designed by BISP for data collection has in built checks and controls capable of identifying errors.
