ISLAMABAD Feb 09 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday inaugurated the Green Pakistan Programe by planting a tree.
The prime minister stated that 9th February will be celebrated each year as Green Pakistan Day and around 100 million indigenous species saplings are being planted today in collaboration with all Provinces.
He emphasized upon combating Climate Change through this program. PM further said that Rs. 3.5 billion are being allocated by Federal Government for this program while as an equal amount will also be committed by Provinces as a matching grant.
On the occasion, the prime minister also met with special children who were present with the PM for inauguration of the Green Pakistan program.
