Stunning tent pegging competition on its boom

ISLAMABAD, April 22 (APP): Two-day annual tent pegging competition in connection with Margalla Sports Festival has started here on Saturday at Fatima Jinnah Park where riders came together and participated in the age old sport. Tent Pegging is an equestrian sport popular in Pakistan and India, with a history dating back to the cavalries of ancient armies.

The specifics of the game involve a mounted horseman riding at a gallop who uses a sword or lance to carry away or pierce a small target placed in the field.
The tent Pegging competition has started at 4:00 p.m and will remain continue up to 11:00 PM on both days.
In order to avoid hot weather and to facilitate the riders and spectators these competitions will held in flood lights. In this event 400 horsemen across the country are participating with their beautiful horses and colorful dresses.

Two days tent pegging competition will be participated by renowned teams and riders of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Punjab and Azad Kashmir.

Event includes Single, Double and Four Men- Team categories competition.
Different prizes will be distributed amongst the riders and teams on concluding ceremony.
