MASTUNG, May 12, (APP): At least 25 people were killed and 30 others were injured as suicide bomber blew himself near Deputy Chairman Senate’s convoy in Mastung town area of Balochsitan on Friday.
Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidery also received injuries and was rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta for medical aid.
Deputy Commissioner Mastung Salahuddin Noorzai told that a suicide bomber blew himself beside the vehicle of Deputy Chairman Senate Abdul Ghafoor Haidery after attending the ceremony of turban at Madrassa Ayesha Siddiqa Binaat.
Deputy Chairman Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidery’s Personal Secretary Iftekhar Mughal, Muhammad Adil, Imran, Mir Tanveer Ahmed, Abdul Aziz, Hafiz Abdul Latif, Habib-ur-Rehman, Ali Akbar, Muhammad Imran, Haq Nawaz, Mujeebullah, Hafiz Qudratullah, Abdul Naeem, Muhammad Hassan, Mehmood Ahmed, Abdul Ghaffar, Shuaib Ahmed, Manzoor Ahmed, Zafar Ahmed died in the suicide blast.
The Deputy Senate Chairman Abdul Ghafoor Haidery, Mir Ahmed, Faisal Manan, Kalimullah, Attaullah, Ahmed Jan, Anees Ahmed, Abdul Rehman, Aminullah, Haji Ashraf, Muhammad Yaseen, Mullah Khan, Ghulam Ali, Pir Muhammad, Abdul Majeed, Haji Abdul Hadi, Ahmed Jan, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Attah Muhammad, Noor Jan, Abdul Ali received injuries in the blast.
The injured victims were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta, Bolan Medical Hospital and Combined Military Hospital for treatment.
Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the entire for investigation.
Secretary Health Asmatullah Kakar told APP that emergencies were imposed in hospitals for betterment of the victims.
