PESHAWAR,16April (App): An anti-terrorism operation in Peshawar’s Hayatabad area concluded today after a 17-hour battle between suspected terrorists and security forces.
All the suspects who had taken refuge in a house in Phase 7 of the Hayatabad locality and attacked were killed in the operation.
Police sources had earlier told that one police officer was martyred and few injured while five suspected terrorists had been killed before the final punch but only two or three suspected terrorists had continued resistance who were in the top floor of a house.
The holdouts were neutralized as security forces breached walls and stormed the building.
The terror suspects were wanted for attacks on a judge and additional inspector-general of police, security sources said.
Corps Commander Peshawar Lieutenant General Shaheen Mazhar Mehmood and IG police KpK Dr. Naeem also visited the site of the operation earlier today
