Youth Drama Festival starts

ISLAMABAD, Apr 7 (APP): Presenting a fusion of performances by various theater groups from across the country, Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) started a week long Youth Drama Festival here Friday to entertain the fun lovers of twin cities.
Students from various colleges and universities and amateur theater groups will entertain the fun lovers of twin cities with their selected dramas till April 11.
Various theater groups will perform during the festival with their new plays based on social issues and providing the residents of twin cities with quality entertainment experience. A total of 12 plays are part of the festival while best plays will be awarded in various categories including Best Actor/Actress, Best Director, Best Producer and Best Writer with cash prizes.
The event focuses on involvement of youth in extra-curricular activities to show their talent in the field of performing arts and promote healthy entertainment through expressions of art.
The trend of quality and thoughtful theater plays an important role in highlighting and resolving various social problems. The history of theater is connected with the history of human society and it also lead towards revolutions in shaping the society, said the organizers.
The festival started with NUML’s play “Qeemat” and PMAS, Arid Agriculture University’s play “View Hotel”.
