BAHAWALPUR, Mar 10 (APP): The United Nations Development Program for Pakistan and the South Punjab Secretariat jointly organized Thursday the South Punjab Development Dialogue at Bahawal Gymkhana Club to discuss the roadmap and challenges to the development of South Punjab.
Representatives of the development party including the United Nations, the European Union, the World Bank, Germany, and Canada participated in the dialogue for the development of South Punjab.
The event was attended through a video link by Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Federal Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Provincial Minister for Finance Makhdoom Hashim Javan Bakht. They expressed their views on the construction and development of South Punjab.
Participants of the United Nations Development Program for Pakistan and international donors reviewed the recommendations for providing high-level priorities and opportunities to South Punjab. Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab Captain (retd) Saqib Zafar presented the roadmap for the construction and development of South Punjab.
Chairman Planning and Development Board Punjab Abdullah Sumbal briefed about the inclusion of South Punjab in the national mainstream and improvement of infrastructure. Secretary Economic Affairs Division Mian Asad highlighted the objectives of the South Punjab Development Dialogue. Mr. Julien Harneis of UNRC Pakistan also addressed the opening session of the event
