PML (N) government does not believe in hollow slogans: PM Abbasi

KARACHI, Aug 27 (APP): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says the projects initiated by the government to overcome energy crisis in the country have started yielding positive results.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the second LNG terminal at Port Qasim in Karachi on Sunday.

The Prime Minister expressed the hope that by the end of November this year load shedding will completely come to an end throughout the country.

The Prime Minister said PML (N) government does not believe in hollow slogans and completion of the second LNG terminal at port Qasim is a proof of that.

He said the terminal will facilitate transporting LNG to power house for producing inexpensive energy.

He said contract of this terminal was awarded through transparent bidding and the project was completed in a record short time.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that functioning of this terminal will be equally beneficial for industrial sector and the common people.

The Prime Minister was briefed that the work on this project began in July 2016 and completed in a record period of one year.

He was further informed that the terminal will formally start functioning on 1st of November this year.

The terminal has a capacity to handle seven hundred fifty million standard cubic feet gas per day.

The terminal has been constructed by Pakistan Gas Port Consortium limited in collaboration with the national and international private sector companies.
